Who are the Players? How do I find you? What is a "Player"? How do I find out more? Who are the RPI Players? The RPI Players is the only on-campus theater group. Membership is open to any and all students and members of the RPI Community who have an interest in theater. If you have performed, worked backstage, or have never even seen the inside of a theater before, you are welcome at the RPI Players. So how do I find you guys? For information on current auditions, check the Current Season page. Work Parties are held almost every Friday night at the Playhouse. They start at 7 pm and last until they are over (usually by about midnight, but sometimes stretching to the wee hours of the morning). Feel free to drop by for any amount time, at any time, to lend a hand. Technical skill is NOT a prerequisite. Work to suit any skill level is always available. Players Meetings are held on the first Sunday of every month at 2 PM in the Playhouse. This is where we take care of the business of the RPI Players. Players is an entirely student run organization, and relies on the participation of its members. Come along to find out what's going on, and how you can get involved. What is an "RPI Player"?Strictly speaking, a Player is someone who has worked on two shows at the RPI Playhouse, and has been initiated into the RPI Players. An Apprentice to the RPI Players is one who has worked on a single show. This work can be in any capacity. If you haven't been initiated as a Player yet, don't worry. The only thing you are excluded from is voting at Players Meetings. All those with an interest in theater are encouraged equally to participate in the RPI Players. How do I find out more about the Players? The best way to find out about the Players is to attend one of the
activities listed above or to check this website. You can also
generally find out more information at the RPI Playhouse. There are
Players there at almost all times, during the day and night, and they
would be happy to show you around and answer your questions.
Additionally, you could call the Playhouse at (518)276-6503 or e-mail us at players Written by Caithlin O'BrienWho are the Players?
